Anything For A Win: Italian Soccer Manager Rushes The Field To Prevent A Goal, Has No Idea Why He Was Given A Red Card

All the great coaches know sometimes you gotta take matters into your own hands. Mike Tomlin tripped the Ravens for a reason. That coach in Friday Night Lights laid out Tim Riggins to prove a point. Sometimes, you can't trust players, it doesn't matter if it's Serie A or 6th tier Italian soccer. This guy knew what he had to do in the moment and that was stop a counter-attack. Play for the win (or likely the tie). But what I really love? The hands up like he did nothing wrong:

Clean tackle! Clean tackle! The hands up right away like he did nothing wrong, sells it. I bet there was someone in the dozens and dozens of people in the crowd thinking nothing wrong happened. If you won one person over while saving a goal, you accomplished what you set out to do. I kinda love the thought process though. Goals are precious in soccer, not the easiest to come by. Why give the other team a clean look? It's not like you're that needed out there as a coach, others can help with subs and everything like that. Just take one for the team, go crack a beer in the locker room.

Oh and the team put out a statement. They support their guy

“Certain incidents should never happen, and we surely are the first ones to be upset. On Sundays, we are all football fans who come to watch games driven by passion. To get an advantage this way is unfair and deserves punishment, as it has partially happened already.

“At the same time, however, we are convinced that it was not a violent incident, and we are even more convinced that our coach, Guidotti, is the first one to be sorry. There’s not much to add.

Hell yeah. Why would you fire a guy for trying to win? That guy can coach my team any day of the week.
