Sean McDermott Had One Of The Most Asinine, Embarrassing Coaching Decisions In The NFL And Deserves All The Blame For The Bills Loss
Let's go ahead and set the scene here. 1st and 10 from their own 3 yard line with 32 seconds to go. The Texans had 3 timeouts, completely fine with the decision to pass and get a first down just to get overtime. But that's not what Sean McDermott did. Oh no, he threw the ball. Actually he decided to have Josh Allen heave the ball downfield to where the balls weren't even catchable. You had 11 seconds go off the clock and then this:
I'm not a Bills fan. It's not like I'm living and dying with their games, but if they fired Sean McDermott in the locker room I'd get it. You can't be this stupid. Want to throw the ball because you trust Josh Allen? Fine. Run something to give him a first down so the clock is drained. Do something to give your team a shot to at least get to overtime. This is one of the dumbest decisions the NFL has seen considering who the Bills are supposed to be as a team, the Stefon Diggs revenge game storyline, all that. Not to mention everyone talks about McDermott not being good enough for the last couple years.
Embarrassing. In a league where dumb decisions are made all the time, this is just plain stupidity. There's trusting your quarterback and being an asshole, Sean McDermott picked the second option. He deserves every ounce of blame for this loss.
