USC Allows Fans To Pay $1500 To Run Out With The Team, So A Penn State Fan Ran Out In All Nittany Lions Gear

Yikes....I'm in no place to chirp the newest members of the Big Ten from the West Coast, seeing as Oregon not only beat us this weekend, but they outsmarted us with the 12 Men on the Field play. However with that being said, this is the lamest fucking thing I've ever seen in my entire life. Between $1450 and $1800 to run out onto the field with the team? I thought USC was a school of tradition? A school of pride? Nope, turns out they're a school that needs a couple extra bucks. Willing to do ANYTHING to raise a little coin. And don't get me wrong: NIL runs college football these days. So I get the idea of squeezing out every dollar you can from people in order to put the best product onto the field. But $1500? Make it 200 fucking grand and I'll be on board. That can bring you a receiver or a lineman. But $1500? You have to do that 100x to even move the needle. Dumb idea and the juice isn't worth the squeeze. Takes away from the tradition of the team for the equivalent of selling two beers at the concession stand....

AND it sets you up for situations like this, where this Penn State fan paid the participation fee and gets to run out onto the field at LA Memorial Coliseum with the Trojans....in is Nittany Lions gear.

I fucking love this move. Does Michigan allow this? I'd pay it in a heartbeat to run out and double bird those losers. But taking my personal situation aside, how does someone from USC not notice this beforehand? How does someone not say this is not okay? Make sure that no one can embarrass the team for a few bucks.

You know what? In a weird way, this reminds me of the fact that you can throw out Ceremonial First Pitches at baseball games by just paying for it!

Shake my fucking head. It's a whole nother blog for a different time, but what happened to the first pitch? Used to have to be somebody to do it. But now every Marty, Frank, and Tate Tom, Dick, and Harry is throwing one out. ANYWAYS, could you imagine if a Yankees fan won the Red Sox ceremonial first pitch (which you can do)? Show up in a Red Sox shirt, take it off and have a Yankees shirt underneath? Would be epic.
