It's Still Hard To Believe That The Nicolas Cage Spider-Man Noir Show Is Real, But The Early Set Pictures Are Amazing

I blogged about Nicolas Cage potentially reprising his role as 'Spider-Man Noir' in a new live-action series from Amazon Prime earlier this year, and talked about how much potential I believed this show could have if done right....as weird as it sounds.

Hear me out, though. You take a little Sin City, you take a little Dick Tracy, you do some fun Spidey-esque quips and tricks, and pair that with Nicolas Cage playing an old, depression-era, cigarette-smoking, multiversal detective Spider-Man (instead of just voicing him in 'Into The Spider-Verse') and you've got a certified hit on your hands. It's just a matter of nailing the vibe and doing it right.

After seeing these set photos, though, I've got faith that they're nailing the vibe already and I'm about to go all in on the series before even seeing a teaser trailer.

Hell, the show could even be in black and white for all I know (I think it should be!) and the trippy visuals could be half the appeal....

....but I STILL think the suit and overall aesthetic looks great just from these crappy set photos! It'll be completely disconnected from all other Spider-Man properties as far as I know, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were some 'Into the Spider-Verse' references in there. Being its own thing is probably for the best to avoid any confusion, though - we already got plenty of Spider-Men running around cinematically.

As I noted in my last blog about this, Nicolas Cage just recently got into television shows. Yes, you read that right - Nicolas Cage just recently got into television shows. He apparently only watched movies before his son forced him to sit down and watch 'Breaking Bad' a little over a year ago - and now he's got the bug and is determined to make his first great television series.

Could this be the great series that comes outta that newfound passion of TV?! I sure as hell hope it is.

Here's the best of Cage as 'Spider-Man Noir' from 'Into the Spider-Verse'….
