Dwyane Wade’s New Statue Might Be the Worst Ever

After everything Dwyane Wade has done for this franchise, this is how you honor him? The man brings us three championships, and you reward him with a statue that makes him look like an 80-year-old riding an invisible motorcycle while trying to hold in a massive shit? It’s beyond disrespectful.

Honestly, it’s giving Ronaldo-statue energy—and that’s a low bar I never thought we could clear. Yet here we are, somehow making the greatest player in franchise history look ridiculous. Every time someone walks by the arena, they’ll be greeted by... this:

A statue that feels more like a prank than a tribute to one of the most influential figures in South Florida sports history.

I love D-Wade. Always have, always will. And that’s exactly why I think the Heat need to go back to the drawing board and build him a new statue that actually resembles him. Because the more I look at this one, the angrier I get. Wade doesn’t deserve to be immortalized looking like a cross between a background NPC from Grand Theft Auto and a generic character from NBA 2K.

Let’s be real—Wade was the heart and soul of Miami sports. For years, he gave Heat fans something to believe in. He was responsible for some of the happiest moments I’ve ever experienced as a South Florida sports fan, especially during those years when the rest of our teams were giving us nothing but aids.

It’s mind-boggling how the team could mess this up so badly. A tribute to D-Wade should be sacred. This man is Miami basketball. He didn’t just win titles; he gave this city an identity and a reason to hold our heads high. The least they could do is get his likeness right.

So here’s my plea to the Miami Heat: Fix it. Build a new statue. One that truly reflects the legend we all know and love. D-Wade deserves to be remembered with the same greatness he showed us on the court, not as a sculpture that looks like a weird experiment gone wrong.

Thank you, D-Wade, for everything. I just hope the Heat make this right—for you and for all of us who were lucky enough to witness your greatness.
