Did Ben Simmons Do It Again, Or Did Ben Simmons Do It Again?

Kareem had the Skyhook. Michael Jordan had his fadeaway. Allen Iverson had a vicious crossover.

But when we talk about signature moves on the court that are complete embodiments of a player so deeply to their core, there's simply nothing that can come close to the Ben Simmons passing up an easy layup because his brain is broken.

At this point, you have to pray that it's a broken brain. You have to hope it's just a guy who has completely forgotten how to play the game of basketball, and feels so utterly lost out there at all times. Best case scenario is that Ben Simmons has an irreparable case of the yips. Because if it's not his brain, then that means it's his heart. Which honestly seems more likely than anything.

The Ben Simmons and James Harden trade was a total failure for both parties. James Harden is a lazy dickhead who was never going to give it everything he had to get the Sixers over the hump. Whatever. It is what it is. As far as results go, both the Nets and Sixers were losers in that trade. But there's something to be said about just getting Ben Simmons out of the city that benefits everybody in Philadelphia. Guys like Ben Simmons who have such a lack of compete in them are a perfect fit for Brooklyn. But that's not how Philadelphians live our lives. He wouldn't just be a cancer to the Sixers at this point, he'd be a cancer to the whole city.

So the Sixers may have been just as big of losers as the Nets in that trade, but the city of Philadelphia came out on top with a W.

Then again, Ben Simmons did make $177M off of the Sixers. So it's hard to call anybody but him the biggest winner here. Guy has absolutely no heart or drive or determination, and still managed to make over $200M in his career. Welcome to the NBA, baby. Can't knock a guy for just mailing it in after being set for life.
