This Sucks

In the blink of an eye the Yankees have found themselves in a ginormous 3-0 hole in the World Series. No injuries to blame. No bad call to cry about. No funky bounce one way or the other that can be looked at as a turning point. They're just getting outclassed and outplayed by the Dodgers.

What's even more embarrassing is that Shohei Ohtani hasn't done anything. He's 1 for 11 in the series. Mookie is 3 for 11. It's not like those guys have taken over the series and helped them run away with it. Freddie Freeman surely has had massive moments and will be winning MVP unless things drastically change. Teoscar has had himself a strong series, but if I told you all that and the fact that the Dodgers only have 14 runs in the first three games, you'd think at worst this was 2-1 LA. Maybe even 2-1 New York. Unfortunately the Yankees cannot come up with one clutch hit or rally to save their lives. They've stranded 25 men on base throughout the series so far. They are ALLERGIC to the big moment and it's killing me.

The Yankees have scored one run combined in the first 8 innings of the least two games combined. They have five extra base hits total. It all starts and stop with Aaron Judge. He's 1 for 12 and looks just about as lost as can be. It's genuinely sad to watch a guy with his abilities just completely no show in the biggest moment of his career. I thought maybe the crowd getting behind him over the top yesterday would help him ease the mind a little and play looser. The swings were a smidge better, but still obviously not anywhere close to what you need. The team goes as he does. When Judge is scorching there's life in that dugout. There's a ripple effect. But at the same time, when he's ice cold like this it kills the vibe.

Now they face the biggest uphill battle of their lives. Only way to attack it is one game at a time. Today they face a bullpen game while Luis Gil hops on the mound for New York. Crazy that Vegas still favors them after what we've watched. What is supposed to magically change tonight from this lineup? I'd probably slot Oswaldo in over Jazz and move Judge down to cleanup, but that's all you can really do. You're stuck with Trevino/Wells at catcher giving you nothing offensively. I highly doubt they sit Verdugo for Dominguez, especially after the two run homer in the 9th last night. This is what you got and it's nowhere near good enough. What's great is the built in injury excuse that Cashman loves to play when they crash out of the playoffs can't be applied here. In fact, the Dodgers actually have that card with the avalanche of pitching injuries they've had to overcome. They have the excuse for losing and they're the ones up 3-0. This sucks and I'm sad. Spare me opposing fans mocking the Yankees, like that rat RDT earlier today. I don't need outside noise to feel like I'm on death's doorstep. Sleep felt like my only escape tonight. Maybe tonight I enter my final slumber.

Just don't get swept. Show some fight one time and get hot for fuck's sake. I can't handle this.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go trick my brain into thinking they can find some life.
