NBA Champion Jaylen Brown, Kevin Durant, SGA, James Harden And Tyrese Haliburton Have Been Tabbed For Season 2 Of Netflix's "Starting 5" Series

(no disrespect to Haliburton, the back end only let me combine 4 pics)

Outside of the weirdos who are still very upset that Jayson Tatum continues to beat their favorite team and thus have to blindly hate everything about him, I'd say the first season of Netflix's Starting 5 documentary series was pretty damn good. Granted I'm the exact target audience for these things and it's been well-documented that if you give me any sort of behind-the-scenes basketball content I'm going to enjoy it, but I thought the first season more than lived up to the hype.

Whether it was the LeBron/Bronny part, Anthony Edwards being a quote machine, the Sabonis storyline, Jimmy Butler's perspective while being hurt, or Tatum's journey to a title, I thought every subject brought something to the table and it was worth watching.

The next question of course became who was going to get the nod in Season 2? Well, now we have our answer

Just like the first iteration, I love this mix as well. It gives you the all time legends in terms of KD and Harden, similar to what we had with LeBron. It gives you a young up-and-comer in Hali, a MVP candidate in SGA, and an NBA champion in Jaylen Brown. All of these dudes are interesting, and while having someone like Ant who is loud and is putting on a bit of a show during these documentaries, I'm intrigued by this group because most of these guys are the exact opposite.

They're among the best players in the league, but they're quiet for the most part. I'm certainly interested in seeing behind the curtain when it comes to SGA, Jaylen and KD. Now that Harden is involved, to me that says we're going to get some hilarious strip club/partying scenes if this documentary is going to be real. And while I do think there's been a bit of a narrative push to elevate Hali into these conversations (he's off to a rough start this year), he is electric when healthy and the Pacers are on the rise (if they can figure their shi out) so I understand the choice.

I was a little surprised to see that a few guys didn't get the nod like how there's no Luka or no Wemby, but perhaps they turned it down and maybe they'll be in Season 3 if there ends up being one. Maybe I put Steph in there instead of Hali since he doesn't have too much longer left in the NBA, but overall I think this group should provide some entertaining content, especially if all their teams live up to their hype.

As always, there will be some out there who shit on this stuff and the NBA and blah blah blah. OK hardos. We get it, you don't like the NBA. Well, this documentary isn't exactly for you so deal with it. I'm all for this trend of Hard Knocks type shows regardless of the sport, and I think the last thing we should be doing is complaining when we get them, especially when they turn out to be pretty damn good (like Season 1).

Personally, it was awesome watching everything that went on during Tatum's championship run, and I would very much like to repeat that experience watching Jaylen's journey of the Celts potentially going back to back. It happened once, why can't it happen again?
