Mike McDaniel Has The Nerve to Tell Dolphins Fans to Trust The Process After a 2-5 Start

It’s hard enough to sit through a Mike McDaniel press conference after a win, but after a loss? Borderline impossible. I heard his latest post-game clip, and I swear, I wanted to throw a straight right through my computer screen. I’m sorry, Mike, I really am. I wanted this to work out so badly, but what’s transpired over the final stretch of last season and so far this year is flat-out unacceptable.

There’s no way I—or any other Dolphins fan—am going to “trust the process.” The process should’ve already started delivering results by now. It hasn’t. The only thing we’ve gotten out of this process is back-to-back playoff losses and a team that folds when it matters most. Why would anyone in their right mind believe in this so-called process? Let’s call it what it is—a failed experiment.

If I asked any random football fan whether a team could win a playoff game, or even a division, with:

- A quarterback who’s only managed to play one full season in five years

- No offensive line to speak of

- No competent backup quarterback

- A coach who can’t call a decent play on third-and-short

- And a streaky defense you never know what to expect from

...every single person would say, “No chance.” And guess what? They’d be right.

Even when the team has somehow fought through all those obvious flaws, they blow the most critical moments. Last season, we had the division within our grasp, playing at home against a division rival that’s owned the AFC East for years. That was the moment to step up, change the narrative, and finally get over the hump. Instead, what did they do? They shit down their leg. Just like always. So no, Mike. We will NOT trust the process. Because the process is broken.

On paper, everything looks amazing—Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Jalen Ramsey, Jevon Holland, Devon Achane, Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips. That’s an All-Star roster. But somehow, none of it matters. They can’t get it done on the field. It’s baffling. Every year, no matter who we bring in, we end up with the same old Dolphins.

Part of me thinks this team is cursed. Maybe it doesn’t matter who the coach is, or who the GM is, or how talented the roster becomes. As long as that stadium is built on an Indian burial ground, we’re doomed. Call me superstitious, but at this point, what else could explain it?

Look, maybe I’m lashing out. Maybe I’m being too hard on them. But someone has to. I’m over this Mr. Nice Guy bullshit. I don’t want a team that smiles and takes pictures after losing their fifth game in seven weeks. I want a team that rips their opponents’ heads off. I want a team with some damn dawg in them.
