Of Course Gronk Was College Friends With The Viral Yankees Fan From Last Night - Update: The Two Fans Are Now Banned From Attending Game 5

I'm sure by now you've seen the crazy moment from last night as Mookie Betts went into the stands to catch a foul ball off the bat of Gleyber Torres. Mookie goes in there, but the fans weren't having any of it. After the game the fan/Yankees season ticket holder, Austin Capobianco, gave a great quote about the moment.

"We're not going to go out of our way to attack. If it's in our area, we're going to 'D' up" (ESPN)

So many talking heads across social media took the holier than thou route and asked for this guy and his buddy to be in jail. I think that's absolutely ridiculous. Listen the one guy shouldn't have grabbed Mookie's wrist, but opening up his glove and ripping the ball out is an all-time fan move. Those guys thinking that would result in a foul ball genuinely made me laugh.

These are guys who just want to win. Nothing, and I mean nothing, can change the image of how outsiders view Yankee fans. We will always be scumbags in the public eye. If you can't find the humor in that dude ripping the ball out of Mookie's glove then that's fine, but to say these guys should be in jail is beyond absurd.

In related news, obviously Gronk was boys with this dude in college. He was on the Arizona ice hockey team while Gronk played football. You can easily see how they would mesh.

I love Gronk's brain. He was so excited to reveal he was friends with that guy, admit how much fun he was to be around, and say that he's a beauty. Kay Adams' disgust with those words quickly had him backtracking to say it was "unacceptable" in his adult voice. Him having to choose between party Gronk and mature Gronk in real time was tremendous. Like Bruce Banner and the Hulk fighting to see who would come out on top.

Not the biggest surprise in the world that MLB came out as I was typing this and banned the fans from the game tonight. In all honesty, woulda been insane to see those guys back in their seats tonight. Imagine the stare down between them and Mookie as the game started? MLB stepped in and said no shot.

Should just do this and sit them by the Dodgers dugout

Maybe they take a trip to the Barstool office instead?
