Titans Head Coach Brian Callahan Cried On The Podium During His Post Game Interview When Asked How Badly The Titans Needed A Win

It's been a rough go for the Titans this season, not a real shocker if you paid attention to their offseason and early on during the season, this team just isn't very good. They have a few weapons but all in all this team isn't going anywhere until they figure out their QB situation. Mason Rudolph started again as Will Levis continues to rehab his shoulder injury and who knows if he's the guy of the future. It seems like he won't be, but that is just what I think. Regardless of the clusterfuck at QB they were able to pull out a win over New England yesterday and give rookie head coach Brian Callahan his 2nd career win as the head honcho. It's been a long year already for Callahan and his staff, it's only week 9 but it probably feels like week 900 for him. Nothing has gone right for this club and they simply aren't that good, but you've got to celebrate the small stuff in this league so when Callahan got asked by Buck Reising "just how badly did you guys need this today?" it got Cally going in his emotions. Teared up immediately and you could hear the shake in his voice. "I needed it bad man, it was uhhh...yeah, needed it."

It's been hell for this staff this year, fans wanted Callahan fired, bad attendance, it hasn't been pretty but his guys battled yesterday and were able to get that 2nd win on the board, he knows how badly they needed that win to prevent things from spiraling even further. 2-6 with a -73 point differential, yeah, they needed this one bad. You don't apologize for wins in this league and the Titans will take any win they can get. Doesn't matter if its against a rookie QB at home who had a miracle play to send the game to OT, Callahan probably wanted to snap a clipboard over his knee when Maye made that play, thought he'd never get win #2. Nonetheless the boys in two-toned blue got him his second win and he can breathe again.

The tears are a real football guy move to me, he wanted that win so bad that he was ready to cry at the drop of a hat when someone mentioned it. Lots of stress for him early on in his coaching career, safe to say he's being tested a lot. It's an incredibly difficult job and he is seeing that now, love to see the emotion out of him. You could tell this means a lot to him and his family. It's been weighing on him a lot but now hopefully he can start to relax and stack some more wins. Crying at the podium is a good sign if you're a believer in Brian Callahan if you ask me, this guy wants it bad.
