The Indiana Hoosiers Are 10-0 For The First Time In School History!!!!
It’s the year 2024 and the Indiana Football program has 10 wins, the most in program history. Never thought id see the day where IU opens up as 14 point favorites vs Michigan, but here we are. I’d love to say I watched the entire game, but thanks to a fucking bomb threat at LaGuardia airport (classic), my flights were cooked going to Tallahassee with the one and only Nicky Smokes. If you’re the one Indiana fan reading this that also happens to be living near Tallahassee come on out to Madison Social and get some free high noons.
Despite the drama of the day, and only getting to watch the first quarter before taking off in a tin can with no wifi, this win has me in a good mood. I’ve seen the script before, I didn’t need to watch the game. IU hangs 40 points on the other team, the defense forces a few timely turnovers, maybe there’s a blocked field goal, or punt return on special teams? Definitely wasn’t a 20-15 down the wire nail biter where IU’s offense stalled
I’m not only happy about the win, but I’m elated that contract talks between Cignetti and the Hoosiers have opened up, and Indiana better be ready to offer a blank check. There has never been a ton of $ going into the football program, but that’s because the boosters were basically burning their money. Not anymore. In Cig We Trust, and I’ll tithe 10% of every paycheck to the Church of Cignetti for the rest of time if he sticks around.
It’s a crime for the football gods to make us wait two weeks for the Indiana vs Ohio State matchup. I need it next week like I need air to breathe. Indiana has a bye next week and Ohio State will essentially have had back to back bye weeks with Purdue and Northwestern. I’d rather be in OSU’s shoes and play an easy tune up game than completely have the week off. Not an excuse, I think I’m just in playoff baseball mode and know what a week off can do to a team. BUT, this is a Cignetti coached team we are talking about, the future coach of the year is going to have this team more locked in than ever. Can’t show rust coming out of the bye. Pedal to the floor. Attack! Attack! Attack!
