Football City - A Detroit Flight Revolted Against An Airplane Announcement, Refused To Let Them Pause The Lions Game-Winning Field Goal
It's 2024. There's gotta be a way to stop pausing stuff on planes when there's an announcement being made. Half the time you still can't hear the announcement nor is it one important enough to pause something for. But now we're talking about a flight landing in Detroit? During the Lions game-winning field goal? Have some sense of the moment, do what Dan Campbell would do in this situation. Football first. That's why I'm glad the fans finally spoke up. They weren't going to wait and see what happened. Just play the game.
All I'm saying is if you're flying any plane that has a monitor in front of you, you don't need to pause everything. Put up a little bottom line with the announcement like we used to have to check for snow days. The announcements are basically all the same. We're preparing for landing, the pilot has put on the fasten your seatbelt sign, normal shit like that. Just put up the message on the bottom line. It can't be that hard to do. I mean I'm not smart enough to do it, but there's gotta be something out there.
I say it all the time that flying is simple. You can't have any expectations. Don't expect any Internet or TV to work on a plane. Don't expect to be on time either way. Don't expect to be on a plane where people understand the simple process of going row-by-row to exit. It's not a hard process, but we live in a world of morons. Flying isn't made to be fun. But this? This seems simple. Stop giving airlines the ability to pause the monitors unless it's an emergency.
