A Spirit Airlines Flight From Florida Was Hit By Gunfire Over Haiti And Had To Make An Emergency Landing In The Dominican Republic
Fox Miami - A Spirit Airlines flight out of Florida was struck by gunfire on Monday while making a landing in Port-au-Prince in Haiti.
A spokesperson for the airline told FOX News Digital Spirit flight 951 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was diverted to Santiago, Dominican Republic, where it landed safely after being hit by gunfire.
After arriving in the Dominican Republic, an inspection found evidence of damage to the aircraft that was consistent with gunfire.
While none of the passengers on board were injured, one flight attendant on the aircraft reported minor injuries and was being evaluated by medical personnel.
Another day, another Spirit Airlines headline.
First off, I read that Spirit is taking this plane out of service now (wink, wink) but I want to know why? If anything, I feel like all Spirit planes should have bullet holes in the fuselage. No? That's no-brainer branding if you think about it.
Secondly, I need to know who the maniacs on board this flight were. If you're taking a Spirit flight from Lauderdale to Haiti, you better be on every watchlist there is. It's too bad you can't pop out the windows on board a commercial aircraft, because I'm 99% certain somebody aboard this flight was strapped and would have been trying to return fire.
Third, how does this flight attendant have "minor injuries"? You either got shot or you didn't. And from the looks of that video up above, people were just extremely scared, but not hurt.
