Indiana Has Moved Up In The College Football Playoff Projection And Gets Rewarded With A Home Game Against ... Alabama, Fuck

FEED ME BAMA! But, slowly spoon feed them to me after cutting them up into small, manageable bit size pieces. Indiana jumps from a 9th seed road game to a 7th seed home game in the latest shuffle of the College Football Playoff projection. Do I want to play Alabama? No. They are starting to get good at the right time of the season, and as time passes the loss to Vandy doesn't look as bad. Would Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers hold the line in Bloomington against the SEC powerhouse? Absolutely. If I'm being completely honest, I'd love for Bama and Notre Dame to switch spots. Not because I think ND is the most overrated choke artist team in the country year after year, but because the atmosphere for an instate matchup would be incredible for the first ever playoff bracket. Also, it would make the Hoosier fans who have turned their back on the Indiana football abysmal season after abysmal season to root for Notre Dame look like idiots.

Obviously this bracket probably won't stand, and we'll be looking at completely different matchups next week. Everyone at the top lost over the weekend, and now Alabama and Ole Miss are breathing down the necks of the top 10 teams. IU has a bye this week, so any rearranging of the bracket won't be decided by Indiana.

You'd think after a close game in Bloomington to a average Michigan team would leave me feeling daunted right before the Hoosiers have the biggest game on their schedule in Columbus, but I'm feeling less daunted than ever. A close game to Michigan is exactly what the Hoosiers needed to stay focused. Getting kicked in the dick in the second half against the wolverines will keep the Hoosiers humble. They've now had a taste of a little adversity, and that's exactly what they needed. You don't want your team walking around with a big head for two weeks, then going up against your toughest opponent. I'm still looking at the Ohio State game like it's do or die, win and you're in. Even if IU keeps the game close, I can just see the committee saying IU's strength of schedule was too weak, and they lost to the only good team they've played. I'm a glass half empty kind of person, so I might just be hedging to not get my heart broken. The only way we'll know for sure is playing the game on November 23rd.
