Fire Everyone And Clean House Because The Boston Bruins Are Fucking PATHETIC

I have seen enough. It's time to pack it in. It has actually taken me quite some time to write this blog as I am an eternal optimist and thought the Bruins TRULY couldn't get any worse. Wrong. The Bruins spotted Columbus a 3 goal lead in the first, yes *checks notes* the same Blue Jackets that rank 29th in the league in points, came into tonight with ONE road win all season long and are 3-6-1 in their last 10. In what should've been a get-right game for Boston, they instead headed into the room down 3-0 in the 1st and wind up losing 5-1. The most uninspiring dog shit hockey I have witnessed in a very long time.

If this goal doesn't sum up the season thus far I don't know what does. While I'm not crazy about an in-season coaching change, SOMETHING needs to change. It's obvious the players are tuning Monty out. They have no identity. His replacement? No one pops out at the moment. If you fire Monty you HAVE to fire them all. Clean house. Goodbye Neely, Sweeney too. If they fire Montgomery it'll be the 3rd coach this regime has canned. If it's Monty, it has to be all three too. This team on paper has no business being this bad and in this current construction they need real changes. The power play is horrible (31st in the league), the penalty kill is horrible (26th in the league), they cannot generate anything 5 on 5... The defense should've been the strength of the team this year and you could make the argument it's the weakest. There is no god damn pulse. They are dead. There's a difference between adversity and a bad product, and the product is physically painful to watch. Everyone is underperforming, and when that happens someone is getting fired and it ain't the players.

There hasn't been a single silver lining this year... and it's been bleak as of late. They can't generate offense so they sent their young stud in Poitras to Providence, Swayman hasn't looked great since signing his big ticket, Pastrnak was benched for nearly an entire period after a horrible giveaway earlier in the year (didn't have a single SOG tonight). The list goes on and on. It's every single player. This team doesn't have a SINGLE redeeming quality at the moment. There's no shred of hope to hold onto. July 1 signings in Lindholm and Zadorov have looked average at best. I can't point to a single player that's performing above average. Not a single one. MAYBE Korpisalo and that's saying something. They take one step forward and two steps back.

Elliotte Friedman reported recently that the Bruins are "out there" trying to see if they can do something to "shake them up", but I can't see anything drastic happening with their current cap space unless they are willing to unload roster players. Taylor Hall was a healthy scratch in Chicago a couple nights ago, perhaps Chicago can retain $$ for a reunion but even then it's a stretch. That's how bad this team is right now. Decisions are looming but if I was Jeremy Jacobs I'd try and save the season sooner rather than later. They're still in a playoff spot, and Thanksgiving is usually the barometer. But my god, has it been utterly painful to watch this team this year.

Enough is enough. I don't think Montgomery has been the only problem, but it's a results based league, especially in Boston, and right now the results speak for themselves. It's pathetic.

ps. subjecting this brand of hockey to Patrice Bergeron may be the most fucked up thing the Bruins have done this year.
