No Days Off: Charlotte Fires Biff Poggi (The Sport's Most Interesting Man), He Still Shows Up To Practice The Next Day To Get Mobbed By His Players

We had a good 1.5 year run of Biff Poggi content. He's the most interesting man in the sport and it's not even close. The dude is worth millions after being a hedge fund manager. He turned that into a high school football coach in Maryland where he spent 20 years at Gilman before turning St. Frances into a monster. Then spent time on Harbaugh's staff at Michigan before getting the Charlotte job. Dude has been everywhere and somehow is most known for this look

He hates sleeves. He loves football. That simple. But he's struggled at Charlotte. Not the easiest place to win and the AAC is on a rampage of firing coaches lately. They want to compete and in order to compete you gotta beat people to coach's - look at Tulane and Jon Sumrall. That's not going to stop Biff Poggi from doing what he loves though. Just because he's fired you think he's not going to show up to practice the next day?

Say what you want about his look, his style, his coaching record, the players clearly love him. They mobbed him when he walked out there. My only problem is why the fuck is he wearing sleeves. They don't get put back on just because he's current unemployed. He's far from the first coach to get fired and show up to practice for his players, but there's only one Biff Poggi. We need him on the sidelines again, college sports is better when coaches have personality.
