Tarik Skubal Celebrated His Unanimous Cy Young Award In Spectacular Fashion, With A Brand New Car From His Wife And A Champagne Shower From His Boys In The Driveway

Never a doubt on who was your AL Cy Young Award winner, that was wrapped up mid-summer by Mr. Tarik Skubal in Detroit. He and the voters made it official Wednesday night as he made a clean sweep of all 30 first place votes.

If you didn't get to watch any Skubal starts this season you really missed out, as he was ferocious on the bump all year and was a catalyst for the Tigers starting that insane comeback down the stretch. Detroit made the playoffs pretty much because of Skubal, who went 18-4 with a 2.39 ERA, 0.922 WHIP and topped it off with 228 Ks in 192 innings over 31 starts.

So how do he celebrate his first ever Cy Young that just happens to fall on your 28th birthday?

You invite your friends over for your birthday party and walk outside to a big surprise...

His wife casually surprising him with a car minutes after winning the award, decent birthday I'd say! And since all of his buddies were there already, why not break out the champagne celly? The guy has battled through two very serious injuries and can now say he's the best pitcher in baseball. That itself deserves the champagne shower in the driveway.

What a cool night for Skubal and his friends. He's going to make himself a lot of money if he stays healthy too, Detroit apparently lowballed him and you know that's just going to motivate Scott Boras even more to try and get a mega deal for him in a few years, but we can cross that bridge when we get there.

And we have to show love to Big Cat's guardian angel in Detroit with the envelope.
