'Kick Them In The Shins. They're Trying To Make You Soft' - Jim Harbaugh Has A Clear Message For Anyone Who Even Thinks About Complimenting The Chargers

Love this. I mean, yeah, of course Jim Harbaugh is a lunatic and we can't be surprised by any of this sort of stuff he says. But he still says it. He could walk in and talk about how proud he is that the Chargers are 7-3, that Justin Herbert should be in MVP consideration and how he'll likely be coaching in the playoffs. But, no, he won't listen to anyone who compliments them. He will strictly kick them in the shins.

Honestly a hilarious threat and one he learned from Bo Schembechler. In fact Harbaugh has said it before back in 2018 and one that will always play because when's the last time anyone has been kicked in the shins? Take out any soccer player or anyone who has played soccer, when's the last time you truly got kicked in the shins? After reading John Rich's blog, I can only assume Jay Leno has had this happen or will have this happen in the near future. It's cartoonish to get kicked in the shins.

I do think there's something soft about fishing for compliments. That is the ultimate football guy talk, but no one wants to be out here begging people to say they are doing good. You do that to Harbaugh and he'll bring up the 3 losses. No doubt in my mind that's the first thing he says after kicking you in the shins. Just the perfect response from a guy who wins no matter where he goes. Sure would be nice to have some hope in the NFL, shins getting injured and all. Pretty clear the key to having a coach turn a franchise is around is threaten to injure some part of your leg.
