I Assembled The Greatest Thanksgiving Dinner Table Of All-Time
In honor of Thanksgiving, the Basement Boyz decided to take the draft craze that swept Barstool over the year and give it a nerdy remix by us creating our own dinner tables for Turkey Day using characters from some of our favorite fictional universes along with one real life person (dead or alive) and one miscellaneous fictional character.
Now I won't slander my competitors in the draft because that's beneath me, even though Robbie has three people that don't even celebrate Thanksgiving at his table including one vegetarian that doesn't eat meat. But I honestly feel I formed the greatest Thanksgiving table of all-time, regardless of the ground rules.
Every Thanksgiving needs someone at the head of the table that's going to take control. He's going to man the bird, set the conversation, and be the quarterback of the TV when everyone's watching football. There literally isn't a person who ever lives that could handle that responsibility better than the great John Madden.
Baby Yoda (We don't call him the G word around these parts) would handle the role of being the adorable kid at the table coo'ing his cute little face off without the temper tantrums or dirty diapers since he isn't an actual baby. And can you even imagine what it would be like hearing John Madden talk about Baby Yo? It's more heartwarming than the feeling we'll all have around 5 PM tomorrow after the third plate of dinner slides down our gullet.
Chopping it up with Starlord and telling him all the great pop culture he missed while away from Earth would be a blast. Plus he has big time "Cousin you go for a walk with" vibes, definitely has some good shit from another galaxy, and doesn't mind busting balls.
Sofia is the literal and figurative hottest new character in the nerd world. Sure she put her whole family to sleep after a meal that had nothing to do with tryptophan. But those people crossed her and weren't loyal. I personally would let her literally walk all over me to the point I've fantasized about it. Oops, that got a little personal.
Last but most certainly not least we have John McClane, who is just your every day common man that is also an American hero. I would honestly be fine if my Thaknsgiving was just me eating a turkey sandwich with McClane as he told me about how he foiled the Gruber brothers. Having him with this awesome group of people is like having an entire holiday centered around food and football. God bless John McClane and God bless all of you.
If you want to watch the draft or hear us chop it up on all the happenings in the Batman universe, Robert Pattinson potentially joining the MCU, and KenJac giving his review of the first episode of the upcoming Star Wars show Skeleton Crew, check out this week's My Mom's Basement below.
