There's Rumors That Robert Pattinson Met With Kevin Feige For A Potential Role In The MCU

We've been leading My Mom's Basement off with Batman-related topics for weeks now, obviously with 'The Penguin' still fresh on everybody's minds, and I gotta admit - I did NOT see this headline coming. Batman jumping ship?!

Scooper DanielRPK claims that Robert Pattinson has met with Kevin Feige about a potential role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe; and I know what you're thinking! You're probably saying, "Robbie, who the hell is DanielRPK and why should I believe him?"

Well, the r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit actually keeps track of and grades scoopers on accuracy, and here are his stats....

For Marvel, they had a 77.60% accuracy rate from 351 leaks that we can currently verify out of 620 total.

Overall, they had a 78.35% accuracy rate from 421 leaks that we can currently verify out of 748 total.

Not bad! He's basically right 8/10 times! He was also very recently correct about this Robert Pattinson scoop, which makes me think maybe he's got access to someone on his team....

I just don't know how to feel about Robert Pattinson possibly appearing in the MCU while he's actively portraying Batman for Matt Reeves and DC Studios. Sure, we've had actors crossover in the past - and we should probably prepare for more of that as there's no doubt James Gunn will bring some of his old Guardians castmates into the DCU - but an active BATMAN feels too big for that! And I know Christian Bale was just in a Thor movie and whatnot, but that was like a decade removed from Batman!

We're gonna have to imagine Battinson as another hero….or villain….right around the time The Batman Part II comes out? I mean, I have no doubt he could pull it off, as he's been tremendous in everything he's been in since his 'Twilight' days - but I don't know if I could pull it off! I don't like the thought of having to rewire my brain before even going in; we've already got enough of that in the MCU right now with Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom quickly approaching our screens.

This spawned a lengthy discussion on the podcast about which actors in the MCU/DCU we'd be okay with crossing over, and which ones would feel too strange to see in both universes - check it out if you're interested!
