There's A Big Golf Rumor That Tony Finau Dropped Out Of The Hero World Challenge Today So He Can Join LIV

Golfing Gazette - Finau is set sign with LIV and become yet another big name from the PGA Tour to make the move to the Saudi-backed tour.

Interestingly, there are suggestions that more big names could follow Finau as well.

Finau, as we all know, is very good friends with Jon Rahm and with Rahm admitting he wants a new player for Legion XIII, Finau was always going to get a mention.

Indeed, looking back at Finau’s comments on a potential move back in 2023, the American didn’t completely shut it down.

This is a blog about golf and specifically Tony Finau being the first of another wave of golfers joining LIV. This has been rumored for a minute but is rapidly becoming much more serious because Finau just dropped out of the Hero World Challenge this week. And then combine that with Finau getting left off the roster of the the new PGA big money golf league thing. It's long-rumored and now certainly seems to be a slam dunk.

A lot of people don't really care about Finau in isolation. He's got 6 tour wins at 35 years old with no majors. Most of the tour wins are like 3M or Puerto Rico Open or Rocket Balls, etc. Although 11 top-10's in 34 major starts is actually pretty fucking good - you could also argue that it's good enough to expect better overall results.

In either event, Finau leaving for LIV could mean others aren't far behind. As of now, he's also uncommitted to the Sentry

Obviously all speculation but I really think Golf is BY FAR the worst sport at hiding/battling speculation. If you hear a rumor in golf, it's probably true. Tiger blazed that trail for us when he got countless blowjobs from a Perkins wait staff. And now because of that I'm compelled to err on the side of caution and take everything as fact. Or something like that.

Point is Finau is absolutely going to LIV in my speculative opinion. Golf media doesn't get stuff like this wrong and I think the reunion with John Rahm is all but official.

Some people are now saying Tyrrell Hatton is up next. Others think Adam Scott and possibly even Xander are in the mix for a new team. The rumor mill is swirling at full speed just in time for the first hot stove transaction of the year with Thomas Pieters going to 4 Aces from the Range Goats.

Does anyone care? Are there such things as horse socks? Then consider me Miles Davis because I like the team dynamic and I happen to love how shallow Tony Finau gets in the down swing. It's a really athletic move that stresses the fundamentals of appropriate outside/in mechanics:

Some observations:

- Short takeaway

- Blah blah blah about his shoulders

- Activated lower half

- Finds the slot

- Club-head controlled through impact

- Really good looking stuff, Jim
