The Big Spending Red Sox Go Out And Sign Their Coveted Power Lefty, Potential Future Hall Of Famer

The Red Sox entered this offseason ready to unload the clip in free agency. They're in on everybody. It's their time to finally field a competent, competitive team and get back to the postseason. Juan Soto, Max Fried, Blake Snell, Corbin Burnes, Teoscar Hernandez, Tanner Scott. Pencil them all on the Sox roster for the 2025 season as far as they're concerned. Back up the Brinks trucks John Henry, it's spending time.

First up on the list? Obviously the priority. Go out and get yourself a premier lefty. Top of the food chain. Someone who very well may end up in Cooperstown when it's all said and done. Make that big splash and strike fear in the rest of baseball's eyes.

Aroldis Chapman come on down!

Boston, meet your new Red Sox high leverage reliever/possible closer, Aroldis Chapman. Wow, what a signing. Good to know our old friend is a big fan already.

For years Red Sox fans got on their high horse to mock the Yankees for having Chapman on their team. All of that to now sign him years later as their guy. An incredible full circle moment on the timeline. I NEED a Yankees walk-off vs him this season where he smiles while walking off the field. Enjoy.

Have to imagine all of Red Sox nation is jumping for joy. Seemingly replacing Kenley Jansen with 36 year old Aroldis Chapman. $10.75M forked over also, which ain't cheap. Good news though, if things aren't looking too hot again during the season I'm sure you could flip him at the deadline for a prospect. Remember, that is how the Royals were able to get Cole Ragans a couple years ago. See? I just spun it for you guys in a positive light.

The stove is sizzling.

P.S. I'm still pretty confident they get Corbin Burnes or Max Fried, this was just too perfect of a signing to kick things off for Boston.
