Hockey Guy: Charles Barkley Buys Drinks For The Whole Bar In Western NY After College Hockey Team Wins Game
Over the years, Charles Barkley has become one of the biggest hockey fans on TV. He's constantly talking about how the Stanley Cup Playoffs are his favorite playoffs in sports, and now he gets to do a few crossovers every once in a while with the NHL guys at TNT.
But it's easy to be a hockey fan if you're just talking about the NHL. You're constantly watching the best of the best in the world. It makes you a hockey fan, but are you really a hockey GUY??
A true hockey guy is freezing his dick off in some random D3 college hockey barn on a Friday night watching a game that 99% of the hockey world doesn't even know is taking place. Because that's just how much he loves the game. Which is exactly what Charles Barkley was doing this past weekend up at SUNY Fredonia. The Blue Devils lost 3 out of their last 4 games heading into the night, but when Sir Charles is in the building? You play 60 minutes of "fuck you" hockey, and they ended up shutting out Plattsburgh State 2-0.
After the game, Chuck hit the local watering hole and made sure to put some of that TNT money to good use.
That's 2 wins in a row now for the Fredonia State Blue Devils after Sir Charles was in the building. They took down Plattsburgh 2-0 that night, and followed it up with another 2-0 win over Potsdam on Saturday night. It's the first time they've won back-to-back games so far this season. Did Charles Barkley just save a D3 hockey team's season? There's an overwhelming amount of evidence pointing towards "yes".
P.S. -- I've only been to Buffalo once but the world would be a much better place if everyone just adopted their drink pricing. I'm sure that even after buying out the whole bar for 5 songs, it was still one of the cheaper nights that Chuck has had in a while.
