MLB Is Auctioning Off The Ball That Aaron Judge Dropped In The 5th Inning Of Game 5 And Gerrit Cole's "Point" Ball

Are we looking at an all time sports memorabilia piece? I mean this is the ball that you can quite literally point to and say "this lead directly to a Yankees collapse and a World Series for the Dodgers." The ball that Aaron Judge, a man who hadn't made an error all season, dropped in the 5th inning of game 5. It was the error seen all around the world, and it can be yours for a low, low price of $17,010.00 (as of Wednesday night). Interesting that the Hall of Fame didn't find a way to get its hands on this somehow. You'd think they'd want a piece of the action with this. I do love how MLB is running the auction but it's living on the Dodgers Auction website, that seems like a clean shot right at the Yankees.

I also love how they don't even beat around the bush and try to describe it as a "Tommy Edman" hit, they include the full result of the play, "dropped fly ball by Aaron Judge (Top 5)". They really don't let you forget about it. Good looking ball too, I can see why Aaron dropped it. This is the closest I've ever been to a World Series ball so I can see how Judge could get distracted and drop it. I mean it was hit directly to him, but you got a nice little mark right there on the laces, this is a ball that would look damn good on a shelf or mantle piece.

If I'm Tommy Edman I buy this ball immediately and keep that thing safe somewhere. No-brainer to try and grab that ball. I'm even shocked that the Dodgers ended up with it. I'd think after it got thrown back in they would chuck it into the stands out of frustration or something. Guess the MLB authenticator got his hands on this one and thank god he held onto it because this is the ball that turned it all around for LA.

As a fan this would be so cool to have, it's from a play that will forever be linked to one of the best players we've ever seen. This is part of a replay of a play we'll see every time a World Series is brought up, Yankee fans will never forget this image and you can have it sitting on your desk at home or in a trophy case for under $20K. But I get that the price may be a bit high for a baseball, I mean you'd have to be an idiot to spend that kind of money on a ball. The Dodgers site has another ball available for a little cheaper.

If $6,610 is more your price range than boy is this the ball for you. It's the actual ball that corkscrewed off the end of Mookie Betts' bat and went right to Anthony Rizzo for what should have been out #3. But then Gerrit Cole just stood there pointing at the bag. Pound for pound it may be the funniest baseball play ever. He just…pointed at it. Like he heard something asking him where the bag was so he had to tell them. Instead of covering the bag he pointed, I'll never forget it.  Surprised this one isn't higher but I guess Judge being involved in the other play and it being the first error really adds value.

Two all-time great plays for us Yankees haters and it puts a smile on my face knowing that somewhere, these balls will have a wonderful home. They're plays that we will see and laugh at every time, glad to know they didn't get thrown in the ball bucket forever. These balls deserve a beautiful resting spot, they made us very proud. Maybe some massive hater buys both of them to have in his collection, that would be the ultimate flex of "Fuck You" money. Some really cool sports memorabilia pieces are out there but these may take the cake. Legendary balls.

Ps. If I'm Judge and Cole I buy the balls, host an event for charity, blow up the balls on stage and exercise the negative energy following the team since that loss and Soto leaving.
