Tua Tagovailoa Makes NFL History, Becomes First QB To Talk About Having Armed Guards During Press Conference
Think about literally any quarterback press conference ever. They are typically just 5-10 minutes filled with as many coach speak cliches as they can come up with. Constantly talking about needing to have a good week of practice. Constantly talking about just being singularly focused on that week's game and not looking ahead. How everybody on the team needs to be better and do their job.
It's very rare that we ever hear anything come out of a quarterback's mouth that would resemble natural human interaction. And it's extremely rare that we'd ever hear a quarterback mention that you'll get your ass lit up if you try to break into their home while they're away.
But that's what is so great about sports--they are constantly evolving. And for the first time in NFL history, we had a quarterback get up in front of a bunch of journalists to let the world know that if you attempt to rob him while he's gone, your family is going to be getting together soon after for your funeral.
Tua has a family and a home to protect. When it seems like every week there is a new break-in at a high profile NFL player's home when they are playing an away game, it's time for Tua to step up the security. The man's offensive line might run the loosest security in the game, but the guards at his home sure as shit don't. If you're interested in meeting God, then show up to Tua's door. If not, then think twice.
P.S. -- I think for the holiday season, some NFL player needs to hire Macaulay Culkin for their home security. Let the man set up a few classic Home Alone boobytraps. That'll solve this string of burglaries real quick.
