"So That's What Y'all Wanted To See, Huh?" - Jalen Hurts Letting The Media Know They Just Unleashed A Monster

Jalen Hurts has a record of 46-19 as the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. He's led this team to the playoffs in every season that he's been the starter. He's led this team to a Super Bowl appearance. He led the Eagles to 9 straight wins after the bye week this year after that Carolina win.

But the conversation around Jalen Hurts--especially from a national perspective--is always talking about what he can't do. The conversation is never about what Jalen Hurts has been doing to help the Eagles win football games. It's always "why will Jalen Hurts hold this Eagles team back from winning a Super Bowl".

First it was that he couldn't read the defense. Then it was turnovers. The conversation last week was obviously all about the lack of execution in the passing game this season. Nevermind the fact that the Eagles haven't had to light teams up with their passing game this year. They rattled off 9 wins in a row thanks to having the best offensive line in football, and the best running back on the planet. If you had those weapons at your disposal, you wouldn't throw the ball either.

But just because they don't doesn't mean they can't.

It's not that Jalen Hurts can't find ways to get both of his elite receivers 100+ yards on the day. It's just that they rarely need to when they can just run the ball down their opponent's throat every week. They haven't needed to hit 70-yard bombs through the air, because Saquon has given them those explosive plays on the ground. But against a defense like Pittsburgh where the run game is going to be a battle?

It's not that the Eagles can't kill you through the air. It's just that they rarely have to resort to throwing the ball 30 times for nearly 300 yards to do so. But if everybody is going to keep bitching and moaning about the passing game, then Jalen Hurts is just going to have to remind everyone about what that looks like. And maybe they'll start to be a little more careful about what they wish for. Because there are 31 other teams in the NFL right now who probably would have preferred if Jalen kept his arm in the holster.

Pray for Chase Daniel. Maybe he should just stick to what he's good at and do nothing but carry around a clipboard the rest of the season. I'll take the GOAT's opinion on Jalen over a guy who under 200 completions in his career.
