Girls Stealing Their Boyfriends' Hoodies Makes Me Sick
There was some talk today on the pod about the stealing of hoodies by girls in relationships. This is something I've had some thoughts on for quite some time now, so I think It's time for me to say my piece on the topic. I'm gonna be frank…the “stealing” of hoodies in general makes me sick.
I can’t think of a single time in my life where I’ve absolutely needed a hoodie, and it’s no different for the women in this scenario. Personally, it comes off as a HUGE “Look at me” move in my eyes. “Oh Jessica, that’s an awfully oversized hoodie you’re wearing…new boy toy?”. I just don’t get it. Some would make it sentimental and say it’s a scent thing, but that feels weird to me too. Constantly wanting to have the smell of another person on you? Sounds like pre-crime to me.
I honestly think we all need to take a step back for a second and grow up a little. Taking a hoodie from a guy gives off the same type of vibe that wearing your boyfriend’s jersey to his high school football game gives. The only difference is we’re not in high school. You’re 20-something years old, have a marketing job, and do brunch mimosas with the girls every Sunday.
And not that we need anything in return, but what can the guy get in a trade off in this scenario? Not a hoodie...that’s for damn sure (Well most guys couldn’t. A dainty boy like myself probably could).
We’re safeguarding our hoodies in 2025, fellas.
Be sure to listen to the pod today, only a couple more opportunities to in the year 2024.
