The New York Giants Are Officially In The Driver's Seat To Ruin The Sanders Family's Lives For The Next Five Years

As noted boxing aficionado Rosie Perez once said in White Men Can't Jump "Sometimes when you win, you really lose, and sometimes when you lose, you really win, and sometimes when you win or lose, you actually tie".

Well the Giants got their fucking doors blown off today by a rookie QB starting for an average Falcons team, yet they actually got a big W in the race for the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Raiders won their game against the Jaguars, but their draft pick lost a a bunch of value. Deion and Shedeur Sanders didn't even have a game today, but it sure as shit felt they lost since these are the guys that currently hold the pick where Shedeur Sanders is being mock drafted to as of December.

Most NFL fans would say that the Director of Player Personnel for a 2-13 team probably won't be the Director of Player Personnel for the next draft. However, that Director of Player Personnel was the Assistant Player of Personnel during the 2019 and 2020 seasons that were outright train wrecks, then got PROMOTED to Director of Player Personnel in 2021 and held onto the title during one playoff season and three flat out disasters. Oh yeah, he's also the nephew of the owner who has presided over the most embarrassing stretch of the Giants since his dad and his uncle ran the franchise into the ground during the 70s. I also figure that Kevin Abrams, who has been the VP of Football Operations since 2018 when the Giants went from tire fire to nuclear dumpster fire, was just out of frame since this football brainlesstrust usually travels together.

I know the Sanders have been very successful mixing football with family. However, they are walking into a COMPLETELY different situation if stuff doesn't change here. I'm not talking about just the GM, the coach, or the players either. We've been blaming the GM, the coach, and the players for everything wrong with the franchise for more than a decade. At some point, it's the people choosing the GMs, the coaches, and the players that is the problem. Especially if those people are also responsible for building the overpriced dogshit stadium that cost a cool $1.6 billion 15 years ago for their dogshit team to play in.

Which is why no matter how many videos we get of Shedeur Sanders throwing passes with Malik Nabers and talking about how much he loves New York, I truly believe his dad should pull an Archie Manning, which means to pull the puppet strings to make sure his kid doesn't get stuck with a rudderless franchise for the first five years of his career. There is a chance the Giants figure it out or Goodell sticks them with a team president who actually knows what they are doing, like John Mara's dad Wellington was forced to do with George Young back in the day. But if it were my kid potentially going number 1, there is one think I would tell him to do.

Speaking of the Mannings, I found this little footnote while I was doing some Sunday reading and think this is the only way out (since you know Archie will make the Maras do all the house cleaning that the fans want him to do if they want to even dream of Arch in a Giants jersey).

Okay, that's fake. But if you catch Goodell at the right time, I think we could make him believe it's true. I'm just trying to figure out ways not to get depressed during NFL Sundays, which will be a lot easier once this season is mercy killed. The Eagles losing today was pretty sweet, but I'll be on pins and needles until they get eliminated from the playoffs.
