"I Love The NFL, But Christmas Is Our Day" - LeBron Basically Declared War On Roger Goodell And The Entire NFL For Trying To Steal The NBA's Shine On Christmas

I don't even need to see the final game of the night in DEN/PHX, I can say with full confidence that today's NBA Christmas kicked the absolute shit out of the NFL Christmas. All this talk about how "boring" and "unwatchable" the NBA has become from people who most definitely are not watching every night, today's slate pretty much confirms what my entire point has been since the jump.

The NBA in 2024 is awesome. It is very fun. It is not boring and is very watchable. But you actually have to watch it.

Every single game today delivered. SA/NYK gave us a great early game and some historic Wemby shit. MIN/DAL gave us an electric comeback attempt down 28 by the Mavs with Luka injured in a game that came down to the last shot. BOS/PHI was my own personal hell, but it was still a great game. GS/LAL same thing. LeBron and Steph were throwing haymakers and it was another game that came down to the last shot (Andrew Wiggins your defense, YIKES!)

The point is, as much as some out there will continue to try and shit on the NBA and basketball in general, it's all bullshit. Even Roger Goodell thought he could sneak his way in and make this day about the NFL. Hey bozo, football was never going to steal Christmas. You don't have to take my word for it, just listen to LeBron himself

And I suppose this is where all the haters and losers of which there are many will say something about "ratings" or some other bullshit they most certainly don't care about but they hear it as a talking point so they just continue to parrot the same nonsense. I mean, the games today are all you need to look at. The NFL was filled with mostly dogshit football and terrible games, and the NBA has gone 4 for 4 and will probably end the night 5 for 5. Goodell can try all he wants, but Christmas will always be the NBA's day.

What interests me now is how Goodell responds. There's no chance he sits back and lets LeBron clown him and his league like that in such a public manner. Does he try and find some way to steal the spotlight come June in the Finals? Does he say screw it and next year we're going to get a FULL slate of NFL games? It's not exactly a secret that he tried to bully his way into the NBA's day today (and failed), so you know the NFL's league office is going to try and cook something else up.

NFL will always be king because we're all addicted to it and that's something that will never change no matter what the product looks like on the field. They have us all by the balls.

But you know what? Not on Christmas (Hanukkah too). That is and will always be, a Ball Night

P.S.

The fact that the Lakers were bailed out in this game by the Reaves game winner after what Steph Curry was able to do in the final seconds was such a crock of shit

There really is nobody like this man on earth. I'm still not even sure he's real. Steph might be the only player on the planet where everyone watching knows what he's going to do and where the ball is going to go, and he still comes through. Not fouling up 3 in this spot should result in a loss every single time. Freaking Andrew Wiggins, give me any sort of defensive resistance one time with the game on the line. You just let him go right to the rim!
