Ranking the Best of the Rejected Illinois Custom License Plates From 2024

Now this is a good video. It's probably my first positive experience with the Illinois state government — and ironically, the only one that hasn't led me to use expletives. Every state that sucks should be doing things like this in an attempt to garner a little bit of goodwill.

I would have liked a few more than the 11 we were given, but we'll work with what we have. "Jagweed" really does nothing for me and in an effort to curate a round Top 10 has been excluded. 

10. Gyatt

This had to be a 16-year-old. I guess it would make you chuckle if it was able to sneak through and you saw it on the road, but no adult is driving around with that.

9. ABadMF

Fine, but simplistic. This getting rejected was a chance to go back to the drawing board and come up with something better.

8. Munch

I was pretty sure I knew what this meant, but it turns out there was more to it than I thought and I'm not sure this is something you'd want to be on your own license plate.

7. Axehole

Just a classic to have back there for when some axehole inevitably does something stupid. It may make some situations on the road worse if you're ever getting into it with the car behind you, but that's just how you know the plate worked as intended.

6. Weenie

Just good, old-fashioned fun. If you see that plate and don't chuckle, you're a loser.

5. Shidded

You knew this had less than a 0 percent chance of being approved. It doesn't even really mean anything, but it would have been funny to see on the road.

4. Duckoff

Much in the same vein of "Axehole." You're riding around with a chip on your shoulder and you know anyone that wrongs you will be met with the plate.

3. ThiccAF

I like to imagine this was going to be on a massive truck. Would have been awesome.

2. Bichin

And I like to imagine this was going to be on a bitchin' sports car. Instead of just denying this outright, they should have had the petitioner send in the car this plate was going to be on and if it was bitchin' enough, the plate would be approved.

Could No. 1 be anything else in 2024? They should have approved this one just so someone would have to explain to people in 10 years what the hell Hawk Tuah is and why it's their license plate.
