The Saquon Barkley 78-Yard Touchdown Dash Through The Snow With Just Crowd Noise Is Pure Cinema
When are the Oscars? Did they already happen? Is there still time to add one last nominee for Best Picture?
It's crazy the amount of Moments that Saquon Barkley has had this year. We're talking capital "M" Moments. The type that define an athlete's career. The type that define a team's legacy. The type that will be remembered for as long as the Earth is still spinning. Before last night's win over the Rams in the NFC Divisional Round, I think you could say the backwards hurdle was without a doubt the biggest "Moment" from Saquon this year. But this 78-yard run he ripped off on a 1-play, 1-man drive to finally open that game up a little bit?
This Moment had it all. Lincoln Financial Field covered in a blanket of snow. The eruption from the crowd once they realized Saquon was off to the races. 26 smacking himself in the helmet on his way into the end zone after realizing what he just did. I just wish it didn't cut off before the full celebration.
Also, you could get the sense that some fans knew pretty early into that run that we were about to see something special. But nobody knew Saquon was gone quite as early as Jalen did. He barely broke through the line of scrimmage before Jalen was celebrating the touchdown.
I guess when you've gotten to witness home run after home run from Saquon Barkley this season from that exact vantage point, you start to get a good idea of what they look like.
We're witnessing the greatest show in sports right now. A true game breaker in every sense of the word. The best home run hitter that football has ever seen. The Rams spent all week preparing on not letting the exact same thing happen to them that happened in week 12 when Saquon went off for 255 rushing yards and 2 TDs. They prepared the whole week for it. Knew exactly what was coming their way. Yet Saquon Barkley is unstoppable. He is inevitable. And so, so many people have ended up looking like the dumbest sacks of shit for doubting the impact he would have with this team.
Nick Wright? More like Nick Wrong. Get a haircut, bitch. Go Birds.
