Cam'ron, and Many People, Are Saying The Detroit Lions Loss Was Due To LiAngelo Ball Performing His Song "Tweaker" At Halftime
HNHH - LiAngelo Ball, also known as Gelo or G3 these days, has the world in a chokehold thanks to his viral hit "Tweaker." But he might have led the Detroit Lions to choke during this weekend's playoff game against the Washington Commanders... At least, according to Cam'ron. The Dipset MC sent a strongly worded voice message to the NFL team's official Instagram account making his case clear. "Dan Campbell, do not start that crying s**t," he remarked to the Lions' head coach. "That's the way it goes. Y'all were feeling y'all self, and I had y'all back all season, and you know what f***ed up everything?
This one's too good not to dissect. The Detroit Lions’ playoff hopes may have just gone down in flames, but apparently, the real culprit isn't five turnovers, poor coaching decisions, or an underwhelming game plan.
Nope, according to Killa Cam and the internet, it was LiAngelo Ball that’s the reason for the Lions’ playoff collapse.
Now, I'm not saying we can’t blame LiAngelo for a lot of things. I mean, the guy tried to make a career in basketball without, you know, actually being good at basketball. But let’s not forget that he's also the man behind the internet sensation "Tweaker." And for whatever reason, the Detroit Lions thought, “Hey, let’s get this guy to perform at halftime.” Genius move, right?
Wrong.
Grammy-nominated rapper, Dip Set president, and self-proclaimed sports analyst Cam'ron took to Instagram to send a voice memo to the Lions, letting them know exactly how he felt about the halftime debacle.
To be clear, this isn't the first time Cam’ron's had words for LiAngelo Ball. He's openly roasted Gelo for his basketball career, but when it comes to the music? Cam'ron's got a little more respect. In fact, he actually likes the track "Tweaker," saying it sounds like something straight out of Cash Money's golden era. (Agree to disagree)
But performing at halftime for an NFL playoff game?
Apparently, that's a bridge too far.
And he's not wrong- Detroit boasts quite the musical lineup of stars they could have tapped to perform - Seger, Bob Ritchie, Marshall Mathers, Insane Clown Posse. They didn't have to go that route.
Did they get too cocky and save those big-hitters for the NFC Championship they thought was a lock? Probably so.
No one’s saying LiAngelo Ball should’ve performed. We all know that halftime performances are a mixed bag- some are great, some are disastrous- but blaming a loss that bad on the guy is rough. And I'm far from a Ball family member fan.
