The Jags Finally Fired Trent Baalke - Only After The Internet Mocked Them, Coaches Turned Them Down And One Of The Most Bizarre Interviews
Goddamnit, I think I love the Jaguars. Maybe I just love dysfunction. There's nothing like the Internet coming together and all agreeing on something, that happened with the Jags. First, we had the most bizarre interview in a long time:
Then this morning you had Liam Coen turn down the chance to be a head coach. Reports came out that the Jags were stunned (no one else was) that coaches didn't want to work there:
You had Jags fans begging and pleading to get rid of him. I saw tweets talking about how no one would show up to games. People were wondering what Trent Baalke had on Khan to keep him around. You name it, it was out there. Not anymore! The Internet did this. People can say what they want, but when the entire internet starts making fun of you and revolts, you see action. Do we not remember Twitter forcing Tennessee to not hire Greg Schiano?
Again, it's incredible to think someone would turn down the chance for a head coaching job in the NFL. Not only that, but a place where it's fairly easy to win your division. You have a quarterback that might be good, no one really knows but he once was good. They aren't that far removed from winning a playoff game! Congrats on the Jags on getting a new head coach though. Must have made some good points about firing Trent Baalke.
