The Washington Commanders were cooked the minute the Eagles made the call to make Nick Foles the honorary captain for today's game. There's just something magical about Nick Foles and that massive hog he carries around between his legs when he's around the Eagles organization. He's a perfectly fine quarterback anywhere else in life, but he finds a way to transform into a god whenever he's with the Eagles. So it was game over the moment that BDN entered the stadium.
Now obviously one of the benefits of having Nick Foles in the building was the Eagles spanking Washington in the NFCCG. But the biggest benefit of having him there? Well the real cherry on top today was that Fox had the game, so Tom Brady was on the call. Which led us to this moment when the broadcast panned over to BDN in his suite as the Eagles just took an 18 point lead.
"Nick. I don't hate you. I'm just jealous of you. You caught it, I didn't".
It doesn't get any better than that. Like chicken noodle soup for the soul. Obviously it's much easier for Tom Brady to admit this now considering the fact that he won 2 more Super Bowl after Nick Foles and the Eagles beat him in Super Bowl LII. But it still hits like a drug to hear.
Also it's impossible to feel like there's not something special going on here with Nick Foles up on the stage to present the NFC Championship Trophy to Jeffrey Lurie after the game.
