Sought After Drug Kingpin Arrested After His Wife Gave Away Their Location With Constant Posting On Instagram When They'd Go On Vacation

Being the wife of a drug lord seems like a sweet gig. Sure life is a bit risky and dangerous, but if all goes well you just get to live a lavish lifestyle while your husband handles the tough stuff. All you have is one rule —don't flaunt your life on social media so everyone knows where you are. This keeps your said husband out of the spotlight when it comes to enemy cartels as well as the authorities from hunting you down. In a perfect world your wife here doesn't have any social media. 

Well, unfortunately for drug kingpin Luis Manuel Picado Grijalba, also know as "Shock," his wife was posting on Instagram like her life depended on it. 

You won't believe it guys, but the DEA tracked her every move and arrested the husband. Tough luck. 

(source) Suspected Central American drug kingpin Luis Manuel Picado Grijalba — a.k.a “Shock” — was arrested while on a lavish European vacation with his family—aided by an unlikely source: his wife’s social media. Grijalba, 43, had been on the radar of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for months due to his alleged role in shipping cocaine from Limón, Costa Rica, to the United States, New York Post reports. His arrest, however, was not the result of an undercover sting, but a string of Instagram posts that connected authorities to his UK whereabouts.

According to The Sun, Grijalba had splurged on $20,000 worth of plane tickets to bring his family to Europe for the New Year. However, the trip was cut short when he was intercepted at a London airport and immediately taken into custody. Appearing in court the following day, he was hit with possible extradition to the United States, where he could face a long prison sentence.

I'm just picturing a team of DEA agents working on this case for years trying to get this guy and all it ended up taking was his wife Estefania posting bikini pictures at the beach. Incredible. Now her husband is facing a lengthy sentence behind bars and it's all because of her vacation Instagram. Sometimes you think you have life all figured out and then you forget to cover the tiniest of tracks. Hope the likes were worth it.
