To Anyone Who Bet On Florida And Lost Today: You WERE On The Right Side

So it's tough for me to come to the blog and say hey Florida +5.5 (last night), +2.5 (this morning), and ultimately at tipoff, +1.5 bettors: you were on the right side despite losing by twenty fucking points. But that's exactly what I'm doing because I simply cannot comprehend how the Gators lost today. To be clear, I'm well aware that when the entire world is on one side of a bet because it's so obvious, it always loses. But this one felt different. My evidence for taking the Gators was lengthy, starting with the fact that not even one month ago did these very two same teams play and the score was 73-43 FLORIDA.

Don't get me wrong. I understand the home courts matter. And I also understand that with all the parity in the sport, especially atop the SEC, completely meant that Tennessee could still win this game, especially at home. But there was more evidence!

I know Lanier leads the Vols in scoring but I think even Big T would agree with me that Zeigler is the heart and soul of this team. That's a huge loss (and the main reason the odds started changing). But wait, there's more!

A late scratch! Another starter. And boom, the Vols were now down to 7 scholarship players facing the best three headed monster of guards in the entire country. So to recap:

- Florida already beat a full strength Tennessee 73-43

- Tennessee was down two very important players

- AND TO START THE GAME, another starter Okpara picked up two immediate fouls

And I had the Gators every which way? Should've been easy, no? No, it was not. In fact it was a 20 point loss. Meaning the transitive property people out there are currently shouting how Tennessee is actually 50 points better without Zeigler and Milicic.

This game made zero fucking sense, kind of just like the entire sport this year…except Auburn and Duke.
