(And that's just Tommy fucking Fury.)

Unconfirmed rumors are swirling today that Jake Paul is set to fight Canelo Alvarez in May.

This non-announcement came on the heels of the news that Canelo Alvarez would NOT be fighting Terence Crawford in September.

Here's what we know WITH CERTAINTY so far…

  1. Nothing

- We don't know for sure why Canelo/Crawford is no longer happening… Although everyone in the boxing world has their biased and unsubstantiated opinion (Mine is that Crawford finally came to his senses.).

- We don't know if the Paul fight is happening.

What we do know is that Canelo typically fights AT LEAST twice a year… Once around Cinco de Mayo and again around Mexican Independence Day in September. However… SMALL FLEX AHEAD… Canelo told me last year that he is planning on going down to once a year starting as early as 2025. So having ZERO announcements about his May opponent before today led me to believe the Crawford fight would be the only one we got to see this year.

Canelo is only 34 years old, but he's a very old 34 considering he's had 66 professional fights… For comparison, Bud Crawford is 37 with "only" 41 fights in his Hall of Fame career.

Canelo is also extremely wealthy AND still a huge draw here in North America, so he can do whatever-the-fuck he wants before walking away from the sport altogether in the next 3 to 4 years.

So all that's left is to either make wild guesses at what's next for Alvarez or wait patiently until a fight is confirmed.

I choose to do the latter EXCEPT to tell you any potential matchup with Canelo and the-guy-who-could-not-beat-Tommy-Fury will be nothing short of a hate crime. It's a fight I'd rather not see happen, but it's also a beating that's a long time coming.

So, we'll see.

Take a report.
