Chris Berman Says That The Best Football Game He Has Ever Seen Was The One That Reopened The Superdome After Hurricane Katrina Hit New Orleans

On today's Pardon My Take... CHRIS BERMAN! The legendary recurring guest and longtime friend of the show joined Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter in New Orleans for their annual Super Bowl sit-down to preview the big game, talk favorite football memories, a touchdown pick, his 45th year at ESPN, and the best games he’s attended.

When PFT asked Boomer what the greatest football game he has ever seen was, there was no hesitation for Berman. And it's only fitting that this interview took place in New Orleans, because the the game that reopened the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina hit the city was his number one answer.

The game also happened to be on Monday Night Football on ESPN, which Berman was working, so that probably made this answer much easier. He dove into that night back in 2006 on today's show. Take a look...

The roars from the crowd. The passion for the city. And, of couse, the Steve Gleason block heard around the world...

For all of the devastation that New Orleans went through in the weeks leading up to this game, it was all smiles in the Superdome on September 25, 2006. As Boomer said, nobody was beating the Saints that night. Nobody. Not a chance.

Last night just so happened to be the Steve Gleason Game Changer Gala in NOLA, which raised funds for ALS research and patient empowerment. Love to see it.
