Jalen Hurts Is Now Just The 2nd Active Quarterback In The NFL To Win A Super Bowl MVP

Time and time again, Jalen Hurts has been disrespected in his career. The nerds don't love him because he doesn't always have the stats to back it up. The talking heads don't love him because he was replaced by Tua in the National Championship game in 2018, and he doesn't always have the massive games to back it up. Ranked outside of the top 10 quarterbacks heading into the 2024 season. Continuously questioned. Constantly ridiculed. The conversation was always, "can the Eagles still win despite Jalen Hurts' shortcoming….".

And now he's just the 2nd active quarterback to win a Super Bowl MVP. That's obviously thanks to the fact that Aaron Rodgers is out of a job at the moment. But aside from Patrick Mahomes, there's not another QB still in the league right now who has won a Super Bowl AND been the best player on the field during that game.

Jalen Hurts has accomplished that now in his 2nd Super Bowl appearance in just 4 seasons as a starting quarterback in the NFL. 4 years as a starter, trips to the playoffs in all 4 years, 2 trips to the Super Bowl, he was arguably the best player on the field in Super Bowl LVII, and now he is a Super Bowl Champion and a Super Bowl MVP.

It's time for everybody to respect Jalen's greatness. It's time for everybody to realize that all this man does is win football games. You may not love the way he wins every game, but that's just because he doesn't have to be the greatest in every one of them. He can rely on the greatness of others when he can, and then he can be the greatest himself whenever he needs to step up.

Josh Allen can't beat Patrick Mahomes. Lamar Jackson can't beat Patrick Mahomes. Joe Burrow beat Patrick Mahomes once, but he can't beat Jalen Hurts. It's time to put Uno in that top echelon and tonight was the definitive end to any argument against it. And the thing about Jalen Hurts is that I'm sure he'll enjoy this win tonight, but he's just 26-years-old and the man is never satisfied. So one is never going to be enough for him. I'm sure by the time he wakes up tomorrow, he's thinking about 2.
