Are Women With Body Hair Sexy or Gross?
My earliest recollection of a sexy woman with armpit hair was Italy's sexiest woman, filmstar Sophia Loren. Not only did she not shave her pits, she flaunted them, and I don't believe there's a woman in the world who has been photographed more with her pits in the air than her.
At first, I was taken aback by women with armpit hair. I thought it was gross and a turnoff. Then, I laid eyes on Sophia, did a 180, and changed my tune. I wouldn't necessarily classify my affection for her sexy pits as a full-on armpit fetish, but it was at the very least, the beginning of one for me. I was only eleven at the time…
In parts of Southern Europe, such as Italy and Greece, it's more common and less stigmatized for women to leave their underarms and/or leg hair intact. It's no surprise the hair on their privates remains thick and unshaven, too.
In general, you're either into body hair or you're not, but you can mix and match body parts and choose what you're gonna shave and not gonna shave. Of course, now there's waxing, electrolysis, and laser treatment to minimize bloody razors.
Some of my personal preferences…
Women with faint mustaches? Turn off. Wax it! I should be the only one in the relationship with a stache…
Women with unshaven legs? Turn off. Shave 'em or wax 'em! Smooth legs are a fucking must.
Women with armpit hair? Shave it, wax it, or trim it, and if you leave a little growth, I'm totally on board with that. It worked for Sophia. There are pictures of her all over Italy with pits ajar, even in five-star restaurants…
Women with pubic hair? Trim it, but leave it! A cute little patch works, and a narrow, centralized landing strip is very sexy, too. IMO, it's a crime to remove any of it unless it grows like a frequently watered chia pet. When women remove all of it, it looks pre-puberty and childlike. Not my cup of tea. And who in their right mind enjoys the unsightly speed bumps shaving leaves behind? And if you're going down, stubble can be painful, too.
In parts of South America, women having visible body hair is completely normal and not considered taboo. However, most Brazilian women prefer the complete removal of their pubic hair, especially those who are younger and more sexually active. Hence the term, "Going Brazilian".
Many women feel pressured to shave or wax because of societal ideas of gender, beauty, and purity. Still, in many cultures, women don't remove their body hair, including their armpits and vaginal area, because having it is considered attractive, sexy, and an indication of sexual maturity. These include most Asian cultures (Indian, Chinese, Japanese, and Southeast Asia).
January is now considered "Januhairy" and it's all about body-hair acceptance, encouraging people to grow out their body hair for the month of January, giving their razors a rest.
They had Sophia in a sleeveless dress for this ad. I don't think her hairy pits hurt sales one bit…

According to some researchers, here in the U.S., 80% of white women prefer to remove their pubic hair, while only 12% of black women are on board with it. And complete grooming (50% of women) is more common than partial (33%). So, the Full Monty, or Brazilian, is more popular than neatly trimmed or bikini wax.
Studies concluded that women who remove their pubic hair do so to achieve a cleaner and more sensual appearance, believing that pubic hair is unattractive and makes them less desireable.
A study of 235 Australian women observed that 60% of the subjects removed some pubic hair, while 48% removed most or all of it. And wouldn't they know what's best down under?
Not surprisingly, the porn industry has greatly influenced the trend towards pubic hair removal. Younger people indulging in porn their entire lives tend to show higher rates of complete pubic hair removal, believing it's sexier, hip, and will make them more attractive sexual partners.
A study done in 2015 evaluated the practices and preferences of pubic hair removal in 1,110 men and women from two universities in the United States. They found that 95% of the subjects removed some or all of their pubic hair at least once every four weeks. Women were more likely to report their status as completely depilated, and it's no surprise that college-age men were more likely to prefer sexual partners with completely depilated genitalia.
A little refresher… What's your preference?

In line with these results, a recent study, also done in the United States, examined 3,316 women and found that most (62%) performed total pubic hair removal and that older women were less likely to shave. Another study with 2,451 women concurred that complete removal of pubic hair was more popular with younger women.
Gaining popularity are women who allow their pubic hair to grow wild and let it stick out the sides of their bikinis. It's a bold fashion statement by women who aren't afraid to put their natural growth out there for all to see. Any thoughts on this new beach attraction? (I'm all in…)
What exactly do men prefer their ladies do? It all comes down to personal taste (pun intended). So, if you're girl refuses to shave, you just might have to pick a few outa your teeth before you head to work in the morning. It's really no biggy…
In the comments, tell me what you prefer for your lady. To shave or not to shave, that is the question!
From full bush to underarm hair, unshaven body parts are no longer considered old school. Perhaps the "bearded clam" is making a gallant comeback!
