The Sixers Are Such A Joke That Jayson Tatum Showed Up To A Philly High School Game And Was Completely Unfazed By A Chorus Of "Fuck The Celtics" Chants

There was a time in the not-so-distant past when the Sixers and Celtics could be considered bitter rivals. Two teams that hate each other, both intertwined in battle to achieve the same thing. Sure, the Celtics may have come out on top of every playoff series between these two franchises since 1982. But there were a few years there when it was constantly back and forth.

But the Sixers still couldn't make it past the 2nd round. The Celtics won a championship last year. And now the Sixers are a complete joke, they're 14 games below .500, Joel Embiid has played like 30 minutes all year, and the closest thing the Sixers have to a rival might be the Brooklyn Nets.

So here comes Jayson Tatum strolling into town last night with the Celtics in Philly to play the Sixers tonight. He rolls up to the Palestra to watch some high school basketball, and is immediately met with a chorus of "fuck the Celtics" chants from the student sections. And it doesn't phase him in the slightest. It barely even registers to him. Because that's how little he thinks of the Sixers right now. These aren't rivals of his, this is just a fanbase that he no longer has to worry about.

That's what Daryl Morey, Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers have done to us. Irrelevancy.

By the way, pretty cool move of Jayson Tatum to show up to this game. Obviously there's some sort of Duke connection going on here with Amile Jefferson with him, too. I don't follow Philly high school basketball closely enough to know who they might be out there watching. But either way, that would be sick to be in high school and then out of nowhere, an NBA Champion shows up sitting courtside.

That's the main takeaway from there story here, I guess. Philly really has zero reason whatsoever to hate Jayson Tatum. Maybe he's corny sometimes, but that's the worst thing about him. He's a great player who seems like a good guy and an awesome dad. The Sixers traded up in the draft just to pass him over in 2017. So if there's anything to hate about Jayson Tatum, it's the fact that Bryan Colangelo was a dipshit.
