UPI News- Feb. 19 (UPI) -- A Michigan Lottery player who stuck with the same set of Lotto 47 numbers for four years found his persistence paid off with a $1.3 million jackpot.

"I have played this set of numbers for four years," the player said.

His numbers finally paid off with a $1.3 million jackpot.

"I scanned my ticket on the lottery app and saw the confetti fly and thought: 'This is a dream come true!' Winning is a great feeling and gives me and my family financial freedom," the winner said.

Good things come to those who wait. This is what I’m talking about. A gambler’s gambler. I’ll start by saying I’m not the biggest lotto player out there. My experiences with lotto players used to be waiting behind them in the deli while trying to buy a MetroCard at the very last minute and cursing them out under my breath for making me late, aka mad at myself for waiting so late to buy it. On the rare occasion I do buy a ticket I often misplace it, or the time my Grandmother put a lotto ticket in a Christmas Card and I happen to remember 3 days later she gave it to us and drove my wife insane turning the house up and down to find it only to look up … that we hit exactly ZERO numbers.

While I may not be able to weigh in as an expert on the lotto, I feel as if I can weigh in on the gambling aspect of this. And this guy is a gambler’s gambler. We all have our stupid superstitions when we gamble and especially when we walk into a casino. Whether it’s playing Red with a $5 bill the minute you walk in like Vinny Chase, playing the same numbers on roulette, always hitting on 12 like Jersey Jerry etc. Hell we take these habits outside the casino for example like in Surviving Barstool and playing the same box EVERY TIME and going 1 for 4 and potentially costing you a shot at 250k. We all think we have these crazy “systems” and things will work out. Spoiler they rarely do, but good for this guy. He never wavered, kept his stupid gambling brain going and eventually cashed in for a big prize. A win for stupid Gambler brained guys everywhere. Enjoy it brother you deserve it!

Final note - I can’t wait for this guy to start playing the lotto again with all the same numbers not realizing he already used up all his luck. But hey … anything’s possible.
