INTRODUCING The Newest Podcast From Barstool Sports...
A little over a month ago, ZBT ran its course and ended after a 8.5 year run that was a roller coaster of emotions, stories, and discussions. Chaps and Kate felt they had emptied the tank on their feelings regarding the military and Veteran space. It was an honorable tour but they were ready to move on from the show. I respected that decision.
As for me, I wasn't done quite yet. I felt there was way too much going on in the world that I couldn't leave just yet. I knew I wanted to keep something going but I didn't have any idea what that would look like.
Sometimes in life things fall into place. Through my personal network I had two people reach out to me about ZBT ending. My immediate thought when both of them texted me was, "I would love to do a show with you." So I asked each of them and without hesitating they both emphatically said, "Hell yea let's do it!"
With that, Bold American was born. Allow me to introduce you to the new squad:
Ryan I met years ago when the Travis Manion Foundation decided to host the Barstool College Football show at their tailgate. As a Gold Star sister (her brother Travis bravely gave his life in Iraq), she brings a unique perspective to the conversation. As a CEO of a Veteran non-profit, she knows the obstacles our Veterans are facing daily and working to support our community. I respect the hell out of her, even if she is a Philly gal. She enjoys the Jersey Shore so she has some redeeming qualities!
Before you get your panties in a bunch with another West Pointer, Rob is very different than me and oh by the way, Ryan's brother went to navy and her daughter is a plebe so that boat school is represented more than enough. Anyway, Rob has been in the internet streets building the Drunk Old Grad brand for a decade. He's super talented, funny, and not a stuck up officer. You'll all probably like Rob more than me to be honest.
Oh! Oh! Oh!
We even brought on a producer who was in the navy! So it's all even. Sands has been hosting the Stool Breakdown show for a while now. He's a diehard Stoolie, Veteran, and all around good guy despite being a seaman.
So what will this show be about? Same as ZBT? Nope! Yes, we will be tackling Veteran and Military topics but that's where the similarities end. We are opening this baby up to all things impacting all Americans. We will wade into politics (albeit with common sense), major current events (ex. LA wildfires), pop culture/sports (ex. Super Bowl/4 Nations). We will stay in our lane but won't be afraid to go off-roading from time to time.
Most of all, I'm excited to bring these new voices to all of you. Each one of them made so much sense so quickly that I have no doubt you're all going to enjoy each of them. They have served and continue to serve this great country and it's time to serve the listeners.
We are here to be a voice for the military and Veteran community. We are here to be a voice for all Americans. We are here to be bold.
See you out there.
