IU Indy's Team Bus Caught Fire On The Way Home From Its Game At NKU, Coach Described It As Basically 'Blowing Up' As The Team Ran Away From It

IU Indy - formerly IUPUI - was at NKU yesterday. I know people probably aren't locked into too much Horizon League ball, but you get Sunday games. I only say this to set the backstory. They were driving home after the game when this happened. Insane. This wasn't a small fire or anything like that, the coach uses the words 'blew up.' Yeah, that thing is destroyed. Obviously the important thing is no one was hurt, which you see those pictures and videos and whoever got the team off the bus and far enough way, credit to them.

I've been on this stretch of highway before. There's nothing there. You're just far enough away from Cincinnati and Lawrenceburg doesn't really have anything besides a casino. You're stuck in no-mans land as you sit there and wait. Luckily they were able to get a bus back to campus. Only decent thing is we finally had weather that wasn't miserable yesterday out here. They could have been stuck in the storms we've had while their bus blows up. All in all, IU Indy very lucky here that the only losses were material things. It sounds like jerseys, clothes, things like that are all gone.

But to see the words explosion, blew up, etc just a wild situation.
