The Winners Of The Weekend In College Hoops Were The Omaha Mavericks Who Have Now Incorporated Wrestlers To Their Pregame And Postgame Antics
I don't expect a ton of people to be locked in on the Summit League title race. If you are you are probably a lunatic like myself, but that's besides the point. Reags wrote earlier this year how the Trash Can celebration has become a tradition after Omaha wins a game.
This is why we love this stupid sport. Throughout each season, stupid storyline pop up like Providence fans trying to say Tyler Kolek can't read (Not true ... plus Tyler is a Ryder), players report card struggles, funny pictures leaked on snapchat, and countless other ridiculous things that can only happen in this sport. They happen because the fans live and die with their teams. They do spaces, they scour message boards, watch scrimmages, and talk about it all year. It's the lifeblood of the sport, and what makes it awesome.
Now Omaha has added AEW wrestlers who I'll be honest couldn't even guess if they are a big deal in wrestling, but 1000% delivered to the stereotype, and turned it up on the trash can in the postgame.
Two just absolute meatheads. My favorite part was in the pregame when one of them goes "who the hell are we playing?" Just an insane statement yet no one bats an eye because of course they have no idea who they are playing. I'd be shocked if they ever watched a basketball game before. But when you need to inspire a team you bring two guys who can own a room and they sure can. Just everything about these two dopes makes me laugh. The tshirts cut like lunatics that I still can't figure out how anyone even cuts them like that, or that literally no one else cuts them like that in the history of the world (maybe bodybuilders), the sunglasses on inside, the full routine on the can, just lunatics.
I hope Omaha wins their conference and keeps turning it up. Some may say no one cares about this team, but they care, and these stupid celebrations are what makes you laugh and keeps this sport going, Good for them.
Also hope they get a play in game and win, so the celebration is shown and a studio crew on the broadcast has to rate it.
