Did The Bears Just Fix Their Offensive Line In 24 Hours? Chicago Trades For One Of The Best Guards In Football, Joe Thuney
Holy shit the Bears might actually be competent. Caleb Williams got absolutely murdered last year after the Bears did basically nothing to improve their line. This year...no guess work. No rookies. No guys off the scrap heap. In 24 hours the Bears have acquired two guards with pro bowl pedigree. And in Joe Thuney specifically they got one of the best in the entire league. The Bears know they have a prized young QB and they're apparently doing whatever they can to set him up for success. Last year we were pumped about all the weapons they surrounded him with and then we proceeded to watch defenses break him in half for the entire year. In 2025 the Bears are doing it right. Building through the line. Poles had also said that Braxton Jones will have competition at the left tackle spot this year so the Bears may not be done adding to the line. It's amazing what getting a competent head coach will do for you. The Bears best off-season in memory continues.
This opens up so many possibilities for the Bears with the #10 pick in the draft too. While, like I said above, I do think the Bears will add more on the offensive line, they're not necessarily obligated to add an offensive lineman with the 10th pick. They can truly go best player available. Whatever Ben Johnson wants. If that's Jeanty or Warren or a defensive lineman, so be it. The Bears just need more talent and with these moves they're in a great position to get Johnson what he needs to win.
I refuse to let myself get too hyped again after what I said the last two years, but things do feel like they're on the up and up with the Bears.
