The Bruins Have Traded Charlie Coyle To The Colorado Avalanche

First Frederic, then Brazeau, and now Coyle. The B's fire sale is on and Charlie Coyle (and a 5th round pick in 2025) is headed to the Colorado Avalanche. Early word on the return is Casey Mittelstadt, Will Zellers and a 2nd round pick. That's a really nice return but man, this one hurts. Weymouth's Own is headed West. Colorado went out and got Frankie Borrelli's BFF Brock Nelson last night and now they've shored up their 3C with Charlie Coyle... god damn. MacKinnon, Nelson, Coyle and Drury right down the middle.

As for Boston, Casey Mittelstadt is a smaller albeit skilled center (11G, 23A for 34 points this year). He's only 26 and has 2 years left on his deal after this year at a $5.75M AAV. Will Zellers is heading to North Dakota next year, was a 3rd round draft pick last year, and is the 2nd-leading scorer in USHL. Taking the emotion out of it, I like the move, the Bruins had to do it, and will continue to explore options in dealing Marchand, Geekie and Carlo.

All the best to CC in Colorado!!! Loved having him represent Boston Hockey Club and hope he goes on an insane Cup run.
