No Offense, But Making Actual Real Life Replays In Sports Look Like A Video Game Is Actually Bad

There has to come a time in life when everybody agrees that maybe more technology isn't the best thing ever. There has to come a point where technological advances are no longer necessary. There just has to be.

Like we've got a pretty good thing going right now. Phones are pretty sweet. Computers are good. We have the ability to watch every major sporting event in terrific quality. I just don't know how much more we possibly need. It seems like we're making advancements in technology just for advancements sake lately. And this replay from the Tokyo Series is all the proof that we've gone too far.

Apparently the way it works is that there's hundreds of little cameras all throughout the stadium that are able to all go into the same feed to create some sort of 4D replay. To be perfectly honest, I don't even know what the fuck 4D even means. Life was sweet when we could just stick to 3D, but now all of a sudden people want to make up an extra D.

Regardless of how it works, the result is a highlight that looks like it came straight out of a video game. So between video game graphics becoming ever increasingly more realistic, and now actual highlights from games starting to look more like video games? That line is getting blurred and it's getting blurred quickly. I just don't know if it's something that should immediately be considered "good" just because it's new.

It's like you people have never even watched The Matrix before. It's only a matter of time before the machines trap us all in a little pod and just feed us these "highlights" of our favorite sports teams winning championship after championship to keep us happy. Even if it's not that serious, it's only a matter of time before some shit head streamers start putting out clips from MLB The Show trying to pass them off as actual highlights and now you can't tell whether they're real or not because you're a washed up 30+ year old.

In closing, nobody asked for this shit.
