Leader: Mark Pope Offers To Pay Gas Money For Kentucky Fans So We Take Over Milwaukee, Promptly Gets 'A Slew' Of Requests Live On Air

Again, this is a man who gets it. Milwaukee isn't that far of a drive. He knows he needs all of Kentucky fans out there, especially with a win in the first round and maybe playing Illinois in Milwaukee. So what's he do? Offer to pay for gas for any Kentucky fan to get up there. An immediate mistake. You see, Kentucky fans or fans in general, will take advantage of this. We got a college kid in Florida trying to get up to Milwaukee. We have A LOT of people in the mountains of Kentucky ready for the trip. You wanted an army to arrive? Well, pay up, pal.

I love the move though. I love it from all involved. Mark Pope can afford to pay for a few thousand people's gas. The people that are driving up to Milwaukee too, not even thinking about getting on an airplane, those are the type of people you need in the stands at an NCAA Tournament game. That whole arena is going to be going against Kentucky except for us in blue. The more of us in blue, the weirder crew of people in blue, that's how you focus on Troy.

Of course Kentucky fans were going to reach out to Mark Pope. Come on, this was a no-brainer. It's part of the reason I love this fanbase. You hear free gas, they come running. These people will do anything to watch Kentucky play basketball. It's probably easier to get a ticket in Milwaukee than Rupp, so get them up there. These are the fans we need backing the boys on a neutral court. Get the credit card out, Coach Pope. This is a smart data decision.
